The latest project from the Barbier family, Rosado de Clos Mogador, is a cuvée that has taken ten years to bring to fruition. It was during a tasting in 2010 of a 2006 rosé wine from a wine-growing region similar to Priorat in both climate and grape varieties that the idea of producing a rosé wine was born. René Barbier Junior wanted to produce a rosé that broke away from the usual fruity character to create a wine with a more mineral, saltier character. With the same philosophy in the vineyards, based on biodynamic and regenerative agriculture, René and Christian are proposing a different approach to local viticulture with this cuvée, highlighting the local grape varieties: Grenache, Carignan and Macabeu.

The Grenache Noir brings character and a Mediterranean accent, while the fresh Carignan adds acidity and softness to the wine. The Macabeu forms the backbone of the wine. A complex, saline rosé with a hint of bitterness and a long, inviting finish. A great gourmet rosé.
