The brainchild of two wine lovers, René Barbier and Christopher Cannan, Laurona is a red wine from Montsant that perfectly reflects all the complexity of this terroir. Its blend of indigenous grape varieties such as Carignan and Grenache with Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon highlights the quality of this vineyard and the harmony of this skilful blend.

Celler Laurona: a treasure of the Montsant region.

In 1999, in the Catalan hinterland near Tarragona, the Celler Laurona estate was created in the Montsant wine region. Forming a circus around the famous Priorat wine region, Montsant enjoys a Mediterranean climate combined with a predominantly limestone terroir, giving the wines complexity and elegance. Thanks to rigorous work, both in the vineyards and in the cellar, René Barbier and Christopher Cannan have turned Celler Laurona into a veritable wine treasure in the village of Falset.

This red wine from Montsant is characterised by intense aromas of ripe black fruit combined with spicy notes of pepper and cocoa. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and acidity that give it balance and finesse. The finish is spicy with ripe fruit. Laurona, a Spanish red wine from Montsant, goes perfectly with grilled meats, spicy paella or full-bodied cheeses.
