If we were to name just one Barbaresco producer, it would of course be Angelo Gaja. In the family domain, he is actively supported by his wife Lucia, his daughters Gaia and Rossana and the famous and excellent oenologist Guido Rivella.
The complexity of this Barbaresco is the result of the blending of Nebbiolo from about fourteen family owned plots of land around the commune of Barbaresco.
The first vintage of this great wine dates back to 1859. It was produced by the founder Giovanni Gaja.
