The story of Azienda Argicola Teresa Raiz began in 1971. In Friuli, Paolo Giuseppe Tosolini, inspired by his maternal grandmother Teresa Raiz, planted the first vines in 1972. He was convinced at the time that a higher density would give a superior quality, so he planted 5'000 plants per hectare instead of the traditional 1'700 (Guyot system).
The vineyard consists of 13 hectares in Grave del Fiuli DOC, 2 hectares in Faedis and 5 hectares in Colli Orientali del Friuli.
Pinot Grigio is considered by Paolo Giuseppe Tosolini to be an exceptional expression of the terroir of this region and that is why this grape variety represents an important part of the production. Other grape varieties include Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Refosco, Cabernet Sauvigon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
