One of the greatest wine-making domains can be found in the heart of Tuscany – Tenuta dell'Ornellaia. A neighbour to the famous Bolgheri, it produces marvellous vintages, one of which was born in 1986: Masseto. It bears the name of the seven-hectare parcel, the Merlot variety of which is the king. Masseto is a pure Merlot with the Mediterranean scents that wine waiters call the "Italian Pétrus".

Nose : On the black fruits that also exhibit floral and mineral notes in an exercise of balance between power and finesse.
Mouth : Good freshness, silky, we again find the forest fruits that accompany us up to the long finale where they are replaced by floral and spiced notes.
Alcohol level : 13%
Winemaking : The aging lasts 24 months in barrels and one year in bottles.
Food pairing : Beef carpaccio, grilled rib of beef, noodles, cheeses.
