Named after an ancient building, Aia Vecchia is located in western Tuscany along the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The estate is divided into two parts, one between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, with a total area of 30 hectares. The second part is further south in the Grosseto area, where the Magliano winery covers 74 hectares.

It all began in 1996 for these passionate producers, who at the time surrounded themselves with renowned professionals to create the estate and establish a philosophy resolutely focused on quality and obtaining super-Tuscans worthy of the greatest. The combination of microclimate, quality soils and good altitude favours the cultivation of the vine. From the start, Aia Vecchia has chosen to limit production, to harvest by hand, to vinify and age each individual parcel of land in order to obtain superior wines that are representative of their terroir. In the Bolgheri region, where the flagship wines of the estate are produced, the classic Bordeaux grape varieties are found, using rootstocks brought from the Bordeaux region. In Grosseto, these varieties are grown alongside Sangiovese, as well as white varieties such as Vermentino and Viognier.
