First produced in 1993, Lupicaia is the flagship wine of the estate. Lupicaia, meaning "area of the wolves" in Latin, is considered one of the best wines in Italy. The two red lines below Lupicaia refer to the red iron soils of its vineyard. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (planted on sandy and chalky soils that give it structure and freshness) and Petit Verdot (planted on clay soils that give it balance and concentration), Lupicaia is a cuvée that symbolises excellence.
Color : Intense red.
Nose : Open, complex with aromas of red fruits and spices.
Mouth : The aromatic bouquet explodes on the palate, the texture is round and silky, balanced. A wine ready to face the years.
Alcohol level : 14%
Winemaking : Fermentation and maceration for 20 days, aged for 22 months in new barrels.
Food pairing : Grilled prime rib, simmered candied peppers, aged pecorino.
