This exclusive vintage, produced in small quanties of around 2,000 bottles, has been selected by us with the collaboration of Charo Saseta, the owner. It comes from vines aged between 90 and 120 years old in the heart of the Ribera del Duero in the county of Horra, Burgos region.
Colour : Intense ruby red with reflects of violet.
Nose : Complex nose. Black cherry and berries dominates the first nose, then we discover rose petals, soft wood, lavender, cigar box and finally a touch of vanilla, cinnamon and sweet spices. If we let it evolve further, the strong aromas leave room for the more subtle aromas of underwood, mushrooms, blackberry and liquorice.
Palate : The tannins are fine, round and very elegant. On the finish, we find hints of balsamic that confer a very long lingering flavour.
Classification alfavin.ch : Powerful red : Powerful, tannic, complex and full bodied. A wine of concentration, intensity and exceptional lingering flavour. High aging potential.
Alcool : 14.0%
Vinification : The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with temperature control. The malolactic fermentation takes place in oak casks ; of which the large majority are new. The ageing lasts approximately 14 months in French small oak barrels from Allier.
Meals : Ideal accompaniment to a large variety of grilled red meat, barbeques, steak, roast lamb, game and full bodied cheese.
Aging Potential : 10 - 15 years
