Owned by the Feudi di San Gregorio group, the Campo Alle Comete estate is located in the Maremma region south of Livorno in Tuscany. Campo Alle Comete is located at the foot of the small town of Castagnetto Carducci on a hill overlooking the plain and facing the sea. The 26-hectare estate is composed of sandy and clay soils on a limestone ridge, giving the wines produced roundness and minerality.
The Etruscan-inspired winery is built in a circular, semi-buried fashion, allowing for better temperature control in the cellar. In the heart of the Bolgheri appellation, the estate works with international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, all of which are authorised by the Bolgheri wine consortium. Campo Alle Comete also works with varieties such as Syrah and Vermentino.
