Marco Casolanetti and Eleonora Rossi produce one of the most characteristic and greatest wines of Italy. It is produced only from vines of Montepulciano harvested late. Yields are very low with 6,000 bottles for 12 hectares.
Robert Parker compares the Marche region with the great Amarone Veneto, "If Romano Dal Forno was producing wine in the Marche, it would probably resemble this one."
Color : dark red and concentrated.
Nose : rich, candied black fruits, vanilla, blackcurrant.
Mouth : powerful with well balanced tannins that provide a pleasant roundness.
Alcohol level : 15%
Winemaking : 50% in small oak barrels and 50% in stainless steel tanks. The aging period lasts 24 months in new small oak barrels.
Food pairing : Alone for relaxing, red meat, roast lamb or goat cooked, cheese.
