Il Grande Silenzio, Fosso Corno: Abruzzo elegance.

Il Grande Silenzio, Fosso Corno is a red wine from the Abruzzo wine region, located to the east of the Apennine mountain range in central Italy. Made up of mountains and hills, Abruzzo enjoys ideal conditions for wine production, with its mild Mediterranean climate, cool mountains and rich, fertile soils. This is where Abruzzo's indigenous grape variety reigns supreme: Montepulciano. Carefully worked by the Fosso Corno estate, Il Grande Silenzio is a pleasant red wine with an elegant texture.

Fosso Corno: A producer that values its terroir.

Fosso Corno, run by Marco Biscardo, showcases its terroir through the region's king grape variety, Montepulciano. Marco and his team have created a range of different cuvées to showcase the many facets of this grape variety. Il Grande, the estate's flagship cuvée, is a perfect showcase for this often overlooked and disparaged grape variety. The vines are planted in predominantly clay soils, with a view of the Gran Sasso to the west. The cuvée takes its name from this mountain, which is famous throughout the region.

For those who appreciate complex, elegant wines.

Il Grande Silenzio, Fosso Corno is ideal for lovers of complex, elegant red wines. On the nose, this wine has notes of plums, wild berries and black tea. On the palate, Il Grande is full-bodied and well-balanced. The tannins are present and well coated. The Montepulciano shows its assertive, elegant character here. The finish lingers on notes of vanilla and ripe fruit.
