Gioveto wine is made from the best grapes of Sangiovese (60%), Merlot (20%) and Syrah (20%). "Gioveto" comes from the ancient name of Sangiovese in Tuscany called "SanGioveto". The vinification is classic, with frequent reassembling. Maceration is shorter for the Merlot and Syrah than for the Sangiovese.
Color : intense ruby red, purple hues.
Nose : Intense, charming and fruity (red fruits), accompanied by pleasant perfumes of tobacco and spices.
Mouth : The sweet and elegant attack is followed by a frisky and juicy mid-palate, with hints of red fruits and spices, underlined by a slight oakiness. The tannins are present but mature and tasty
Alcohol level : 14.5%
Winemaking : In stainless steel tanks then aged for 12 months in Allier oak barrels, followed by 12 months of aging in the bottle.
Food pairing : Roasted and grilled red meats, game and full bodied cheeses.
